Why not hire a Birdman video camera and film your race or training from anywhere onboard the boat. The first video is a veteran crew from Abingdon RC at the ISIS Sculls 2009. The camera has been hired for the pairs head this weekend so you will see footage in the next couple of days from the Tideway.
The Birdman Camera is an ideal tool for coaching giving you up close images of the oarsperson from several different angles, whilst being extremley steady (see videos). Bryanston School have been using the birdman camera to improve their best scullers performance this week "very useful indeed" G Elliot (Bryanston School). You can see from the second video of the birdman how the camera can be moved around the boat for different views, it is also 170 degree wide angle so you can see both spoons from anywhere. We are just developing a new arm mount which should allow the camera to stand over the heads of coxes or out to one side to see body swing and the rest of the crew.
